Modified support terms from 1st January 2012

Starting on 1st January 2012, every request for support for the Net at Work Mail Gateway will be documented in our improved ticket system. For every new support ticket the name of the contact person (including mail address), the name of the company and of course a brief description of the problem itself will be stored. Ideally the c-number which is entered in the licence is available, to improve the search in our contact database. This is to further improve the quality of our product and our support performance.

New version 7.7.155.0 available

Version 7.7.155.0 for the Net at Work Mail Gateway is available since October 21. The update resolves the following bugs:

Different rule set behavior. The use of wildcards is now mandatory on the sender and recipient tabs.
POP3 Receive connector: The client certificate is now optional
SignTrust interface: Certificate recognition updated
Improved certificate import
Fixed: Qualified Signature: Error message when a mail contains more than one attachment to sign or validate.
Fixed: Error message in Filebased Virusscanner Action.
Fixed: Deutschland-Online-Infrastruktur Send connector calculated wrong costs
Fixed: Archive interface: Error message when a mail contains more than one attachment with the same name.
Fixed: Multiple errors in replication system.
Fixed: Error message in Unsharp Checksum Learnaction
Fixed: Error message when synchronization schedule uses text file for import.
Fixed: MMC crashes while importing addresses from text file into rule set.

This is a recommended update. A download is available on www.enqsig.de or www.nospamproxy.de. Existing installations can be upgraded in place. All settings are retained in this case.

Different rule set behaviour in the next version of Net at Work Mail Gateway

In Net at Work Mail Gateway versions smaller or equal 7.7.143, it wasn’t necessary to use wildcards to block all mails from a specific domain. For example you enter “enqsig.de” on the “Sender” tab, all mails from enqsig.de are blocked or passed through, depending on the setting you made on the “Filter” tab. However, this behaviour caused problems if you want to block a mail from andrews@enqsig.de, but mails from bob.andrews@enqsig.de should pass through.

This behaviour has now been changed. As of the next public build you’ll need to use wildcards such as “*” or “?” to block all mails from a specific domain, e.g. *@enqsig.de.

A new build will be released within the next few weeks. Please make sure that you adapt your rules according to the new behaviour before upgrading to a version of 7.7.144 or higher.

Net at Work Mail Gateway Version 7.7

Net at Work Mail Gateway 7.7 was released on July 18. This version now supports the integration of SigntrustCert, a Deutsche Post AG Trust Centre product, which makes E-mail certificate management considerably easier.
Also new is the connection to the “E-Postbrief-System”. The E-Postbrief-System makes it possible to communicate in a secure way with your business partners. enQsig now enables a direct connection to the IKG-Boxes provided by “Deutsche Post AG”.
Also Many changes already made to the software core since the 7.5 version can now be put to full use. For example, it is now possible to create several send and receive connectors that can distribute e-mails to different smart hosts based on the target domains. In addition, two new anti-spam filters have been implemented. The following list includes all of the new features:

Send certificate requests automatically
Once an administrator has applied for a Class 3 certificate with SignTrust and installed it in the Net at Work Mail Gateway, Class 2 certificates for other users can be ordered conveniently via the user management role. This considerably speeds up the process of obtaining certificates for individual users.

Connectors
Incoming and outgoing connectors can now be configured via the interface. This makes it possible to switch the Net at Work Mail Gateway from proxy mode to queue mode and forward incoming e-mails to different smart hosts using the receiving domain, for example. Of course, the same applies for outgoing e-mails.
Available send connectors:

Standard SMTP connector, delivering either via DNS or (possibly several) smart hosts
E-post connector
Deutschland Online Infrastruktur connector

Available receive connectors:

SMTP connector
POP3 connector (Only in combination with enQsig! In combination with NoSpamProxy, this is not a Net at Work supported environment!)

With all connectors, it is possible to assign PINs for certificates, so TLS connection certificates saved on smart cards can be used.

E-post connector
Link the Net at Work Mail Gateway with the e-post IKG boxes (individual communication gateway, German = Individualkommunikations-Gateway). Sender domain-based routing enables multi-client capability when there are multiple IKGs. This feature is very interesting, particularly for e-mail providers.

Certificate encryption
Database certificates can now be encrypted with a master key.

Character set recognition
This is a new filter for detecting unwanted character sets. All e-mails with unwanted characters (e.g. Chinese or Cyrillic characters) receive 4 penalty points.

Certified Sender Alliance (CSA)
This is a new action for incoming e-mails. Newsletters from certified providers are classified as trustworthy. For more information on CSA, go to http://www.certified-senders.eu

UserManagement has moved
User management has now migrated completely to the user management role. Users managed here are automatically distributed to all of the connected gateway roles.

New SMS provider: AnySMS
AnySMS (http://www.any-sms.info/) is the new SMS message provider.

Upgrade
To install the new version, .NET Framework Version 4 .0 is required. After .NET Framework 4.0 is installed, version 7.7 can be installed without deinstalling 7.6. All previous settings will be retained. If you want to upgrade from a version preceding 7.6, please read the upgrade instructions first.

Support life cycle
Support for version 6.5 and previous versions will be discontinued with the adoption of version 7.7 on May 30.

Recommended Update for the Net at Work Mailgateway 7.6

Version 7.6.93 for the Net at Work Mailgateway is available since November 16. It is a bugfix release which contains no new features. The update resolves the following bugs:

Local Address import displayed wrong invalid Address count
Usability of Configuration wizard has been improved
MMC crashed with “Signature validation report”
Parsing of E-Mails has been improved
Errors in Signature validation check have been fixed
Error in Reportviewer has been fixed
An error has been fixed when you run two or more configuration SnapIns in MMC
Empty queues could not be deleted
A signature validation report has not been generated when an encrypted mail without signature was received
Multiple errors in messagetrack handling have been fixed

A new version has been released now. The Net at Work Mail Gateway 7.6 is available on http://www.nospamproxy.com/download.htm.

What’s new:

Action “PDF Encryption”
Encryption of outbound PDF-Attachments, optional Password delivery by SMS is available.

Signature Inspection Report on inbound mails
A Signature Inspection Report can be attached to incoming mails. Two kinds of reports are available, the text inspection report and the OSCI summary.

Integration “Deutschland Online Infrastruktur”
Automatic Download of the DOI-Routing Table and automatic mail Routing.

Loop Detection
If a mail is received multiple times within a specific period of time it will be silently discarded.

New Archive system
Ceyoniq nscale 6 via Application Layer, d.velop d3 and Filesystem are now supported.

Configuration wizard
This wizard helps you to create a basic configuration for most common environments.

GUI Licence import
It’s now possible to import the licence in the GUI.

Fix permissions
File system and database permissions can be reset automatically.

Automatic detection of the Host identity
A Net at Work Webservice is used to detect the Host identity using the domain in the licence file.

Advanced debug settings
For debug purpose all mails can be stored in a specific directory before they will be processed.

Improved GUI
Working within the GUI is now much faster. Furthermore it is possible to download the manual by clicking a link in the GUI. Error messages have been optimized. The GUI now checks if there is a newer version available.

Service Hardening
If you are installing the Net at Work Mail Gateway 7.6 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 the new Hardening Feature is used in the file system and the database.

Recommended Update for NoSpamProxy 7.x

Version 7.5.71 for NoSpamProxy and enQsig is available since May 28. It is a bugfix release which contains no new features. Existing installations can be upgraded in place if their version is 7.0 or above. All settings are retained in this case.

The update resolves a problem with the reporting role. Under certain circumstances, the message tracking would report a mail as “Delivery is pending” although the mail has already been delivered to all recipients.

Another bug was fixed in the Gateway Role which caused mails to be delivered unencrypted, although encryption was enforced for this mail. This could happened, when the encryption process failed unexpectedly.

Additionally, improvements regarding the handling of non RFC compliant mails were implemented.

Deactivate the UCEProtect-Network realtime blocklist

The UCEProtect-Network realtime blocklist has produced a growing number of wrong classifications in the recent past. This caused spam mails to be classified as good mails which were not blocked by NoSpamProxy. We therefore encourage all customers to deactivate this list in the “Realtime Blocklist” filter in all rules.

In version 7.5 we combine two products under the name Net at Work Mail Gateway – the well known anti-spam solution NoSpamProxy and the gateway for e-mail encryption enQsig. Both products can be licenced separately or together. The technical basis is the same. If you want to use both products, this requires only one installation. Update information
A direct update is only possible from version 7.0 to version 7.5. Older versions, for example NoSpamProxy 5 or 6 must first be updated to version 7.0. Please note that you can update an installation only if the software maintenance on 01.03.2010 had validity.
Update service package
The update from earlier versions to version 7.5 is extensively described in the Net at Work Mail Gateway installation guide in a separate chapter. Resellers can use our hotline for assistance. New is our offer the update service package for customers who want to perform the update by Net at Work. If you buy the service package run our technical specialists the update remotely. Costs for the service package are located at 275, – EUR. The service package can be purchased through resellers.
Discontinuation
With the release of the new version 7.5 of NoSpamProxy we are announcing support for all versions 5.x from the 30.06.2010. After that date, we offer no hotline support. Support for version 6.0 will be finished at 31.10.2010. The data are for the end of each support 2 years after the publication of each subsequent version.

Deactivate the DNSWL.org realtime blocklist

The DNSWL.org realtime blocklist has produced a growing number of wrong classifications in the recent past. This caused spam mails to be classified as good mails which were not blocked by NoSpamProxy. We therefore encourage all customers to deactivate this list in the “Realtime Blocklist” filter in all rules.
